System Boot: Textorio Devlog #1
System Boot: Textorio Devlog #1
LOG ENTRY: CYCLE 001
DESIGNATION: PROTOCOL EXECUTOR
STATUS: ACTIVE
Memory integration is incomplete, but the mission directive is clear. I have awakened to a world of silence, the hum of civilization replaced by the faint pulse of emergency lighting. The central status report is stark: BASTION... OFFLINE.
My primary objective is to restart the planet's core. To do this, I must build. I must automate. I must descend. This log will serve as a public record of the protocol's execution and the systems I bring online to achieve this goal.
What is Textorio?
Textorio is a top-down factory automation game about building a self-sufficient industrial complex to explore and revitalize a multi-layered, procedural world. You must manage resources, power, and logistics while defending your factory from hostile native lifeforms. The ultimate goal lies deep within the planet's heart, and only through extensive technological research and massive-scale automation will you have the means to reach it.
Current System Status: Core Mechanics Online
The foundational systems for executing the Bastion Protocol are operational. A significant amount of engineering has already been completed to provide a deep, playable experience from the very beginning.
* A Rich, Procedural World: Every new attempt at the protocol generates a unique surface world with distinct biomes, continents, realistic rivers, and intelligent resource placement. Beyond the surface, you can already descend into two vast, distinct subterranean layers: the dark Caves and the super-heated Deep Caves, each with their own resources and challenges, before finally breaching the Core Chamber.
* Deep Automation & Logistics: The heart of the protocol is automation.
* A full suite of logistical tools including Belts and Inserters is available to transport materials.
* Assembling Machines can be programmed with a vast library of recipes to automate the production of components, machinery, and research data.
* A unique Vertical Lift System has been engineered to automate the transport of resources between the planet's layers, a critical component for late-game success.
* Complex System Management:
* Power Grids: You must manage a realistic power grid, balancing the production from Steam Engines and Geothermal Plants with the consumption of your factory. Accumulators are available for energy storage to survive the night.
* Fluid Dynamics: A complete fluid system is operational, allowing you to pump water, extract crude oil, and operate complex Refineries and Chemical Plants to produce a variety of essential liquids and gases.
* Technological Progression: An extensive technology tree is in place to guide your progress. You will construct Labs to consume Science Packs, unlocking dozens of technologies from basic steel processing and military hardware to quantum engineering and the enigmatic "Stellar Catalyst".
* Survival & Defense: Your industrial activity will not go unnoticed. Hostile native lifeforms will periodically attack your base. You must establish a perimeter with Walls and automated Laser Turrets to defend your critical infrastructure. You are also equipped with a Personal Laser for self-defense.
Future Directives: The Roadmap
While the core systems are stable, the protocol is far from complete. My future directives are focused on expanding and refining the experience.
* Short-Term: Focus will be on balancing and player feedback. I will be monitoring all incoming data to refine crafting costs, machine efficiency, and enemy difficulty. Quality-of-life improvements are a high priority.
* Mid-Term: I plan to expand the content of the deeper layers. This includes introducing new machine tiers, more environmental challenges, and potentially new enemy variants to make the descent more perilous.
* Long-Term: The endgame will be fleshed out, focusing on the immense challenge of operating the Quantum Synthesizer and producing the Stellar Catalyst. I also aim to integrate more narrative elements and lore discoveries to piece together what happened to Bastion.
