A Feast for the Ears and A Factory in Your Pocket!

Hey everyone,

This week's update is a big one for immersion and accessibility! I've focused on two major features that bring the world of Textorio to life in a new way and open up the game to more players: a complete sound overhaul and experimental mobile support.

🔊 The World is No Longer Silent: Sound is Here!

Your factory now has a voice! I've implemented a comprehensive audio system to make the world feel more alive and your actions more impactful.

  • Sound Effects (SFX): Almost every action now has a corresponding sound effect. You'll hear the satisfying clink of your pickaxe hitting an ore patch, the mechanical thud of placing a new building, and the distinct hum of your machines at work [cite: audio.js]. Furnaces now have a low roar, and assemblers have a rhythmic, productive whir, all implemented with a positional audio system so you can hear your factory working around you.
  • Ambient Music: Each world layer now has its own unique, atmospheric music to set the mood. From the hopeful, ambient tones of the surface to the mysterious and oppressive drones of the deep caves, the soundtrack will now accompany you on your descent to the core.
  • Full Volume Control: A new Audio section has been added to the Settings menu, allowing you to separately control the Master, Music, and SFX volumes to get the perfect audio balance for your playstyle.

📱 Mobile Support (Beta)

You can now try to manage your factory on the go!

Please note that this is an veeeeery early beta implementation. Building and managing a complex factory on a small touch screen is a huge design challenge, and there is still much to improve. I would love to hear your feedback on how it feels and any suggestions you have for making it better!
